We’ve been looking for “The Boat” for years, and we think we may have found it.
It’s a 56 foot long Ocean Cockpit Motoryacht powered by twin Detroit Diesel engines. It has three staterooms (bedrooms), two heads (bathrooms), a full galley (kitchen) and two helms (driving locations).
We’ve looked at a whole bunch of boats, and as any boater knows, there is no “perfect” boat. For what we want though, this one comes pretty close.
We’ve driven to Virginia to look it over, and we made an offer that was accepted, so now it’s time for a marine survey.
We’ll go back to Virginia and spend a full day with two different surveyors, looking at everything in the boat. One surveyor will concentrate on the engines and the generator, and the other surveyor will be looking at everything else. We’ll have the boat pulled from the water to check the hull and running gear, then we’ll put it back in the water and take it for a “test drive”.
At the end of the day, we’ll be ready to make a final decision.
